Stimulus and Education

The Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan, provided an overview on using ARRA for IDEA, State Stabilization, Title I and other education funding to advance four principles:

• Spend funds quickly to save and create jobs.
• Ensure transparency, reporting and accountability.
• Invest one-time ARRA funds thoughtfully to minimize the “funding cliff.”
• Improve student achievement through school improvement and reform.
